Freelance journalist, trainer, author and editor specialising in health, birth issues, parenting, wellbeing and healthy eating

Looking for someone to:

* write sparkling, original features
* help you tell your real-life story
* come up with the perfect words for your leaflet, website or booklet
* provide inspirational training?

Look no further.

I'm a freelance journalist, trainer, author and editor specialising in health, birth issues, parenting, wellbeing and healthy eating and write regularly for Take a Break (the UK's biggest selling women's weekly). You'll find my features in the Heartbeat health section. I've also contributed to many other national magazines, newspapers and websites including The Guardian, Pregnancy, Baby and You, Maternity & Infant, The New Statesman, Practice Nursing, iFly, Men's Health, Healthy, Natural Health and Beauty, You Are What You Eat, Real World, www.allaboutyou.com and www.nhs.uk. From 2004 to 2008, I wrote Take a Break's weekly column, Food Police.

I'm a visiting tutor in print journalism at Goldsmiths University, London and have devised and run my own courses and sessions on aspects of real-life journalism and freelancing for CSV (Community Service Volunteers) and Journalist Training.

I believe that effective communication doesn't have to be limited to the consumer press. My most recent contract publishing projects have been writing and editing the Tesco Healthy Living supplement and editing Tesco's new range of leaflets covering everything from organic eating to exercise.

My first book, Coping with Birth Trauma and Postnatal Depression, is published by Sheldon Press. You can pre-order it from Amazon here.

On the right you'll find links to examples of my journalism and corporate work, my contact details, some favourite sites, and a brief biography.
